Abstract

This paper raises questions concerning politization of social science and specifically psychology. In what is arguably a concerted attack on traditional knowledge, social scientists are increasingly encouraged to ignore the impact of neurological disorders on a person's academic and professional success. Basic data-based psychological tenets, such as the viability of general intelligence and applicability of standardized test, are assaulted as vehicles of social oppression. The author avers that misguided reform movements are creating, and will continue to create, major problems not only for mental health professionals, but, more importantly, for their clients.
