Abstract

Overall, Duden Korrektor PLUS 2.0 is a helpful, user-friendly program for anyone who seeks immediate, albeit limited, machine-generated error correction when working with Word documents. It certainly facilitates editing and proofreading more extensive texts. Those who are looking for a program that detects all errors and suggests appropriate corrections to any kind of language problem will be disappointed. Given the obvious dichotomy between the plethora of semantic nuances in the language and the current limitations of technology, it takes human rather than “artificial intelligence” to make the ultimate decisions about appropriate language use.
