Abstract

This article defines work-family balance, and describes the prevalence and the social and economic shifts that contribute to the widespread interest in the topic. It situates work-family balance in the broader stress literature, outlines pivotal gaps in existing research, and suggests areas for future research. © 2007 Copyright © 2007 Elsevier Inc.
