Synthesis Of [RuIi(Bpy)2(Ncs)2] Derivatives And Their Use As Dye-Sensitizers In Nanocrystalline Solar Cells

Abstract
Dye complexes based on a [RuII(bpy)2(NCS)2] structure were synthesized, characterized by absorption spectroscopy in ethanol solution, and used as sensitizers in nanocrystalline TiO2 photovoltaic cells. Additional work was done on preparation techniques for TiO2 thin films and cell construction in an attempt to improve cell performance.
