Abstract
Originally presented at the Economies and Ethics of Performance conference held at Villanova University, 22-24 June 2012, this paper was one of several presented in a session on the future of graduate studies in performance. In this essay, I summarize the challenges of the past and offer strategies for meeting the present and future economics facing higher education in general and performance studies in particular. © 2013 National Communication Association.
