Abstract

In the Hollow of a Tree is a historically based novel set during the onset and years into World War II. The novel is centered around Winston and Clementine Churchill’s family and more specifically his youngest daughter, Mary Churchill, whose name is Elizabeth Mary Churchill in the novel. The novel is about Churchill and Elizabeth’s involvement in WWII and her desire to be of service in the Red Cross and her compassion for those whose lives were changed by this war.
