Perfectionism as a Moderator of Disordered Eating and Anxiety Among Male and Female College Students
Presentation Type
Poster Presentation
Abstract
Many men and women are negatively affected by disordered eating patterns and attitudes towards their bodies that do not meet the criteria for a clinical diagnosis of an eating disorder. Eating disorders are common in people with anxiety, and this relationship may be amplified by the presence of perfectionism. Little research has been done on how eating disorders with these factors affect men, so this study will also include aspects of disordered eating that are specific to men.
