Shine your Light: Shadowing an Elementary School Counselor

Abstract

This semester, I had the opportunity to shadow a school counselor at Orchard Hill Elementary School. I had daily tasks and I also helped plan and lead group, individual, and classroom lessons. In this poster I will discuss my daily tasks and my project of designing a bulletin board with interviews and pictures of students. This internship gave me a better understanding of the work needed to be a school counselor. I will take the knowledge gained from this opportunity with me through the rest of my undergraduate and graduate school years.
