Shadowing a School Counselor

Abstract

During the fall semester of 2021, I was able to intern with Rebecca Lins. She is a school counselor at Peet Jr High in Cedar Falls. I helped organize small group activities, observe classroom lessons, and interact with many staff members. My poster will dive into what a day in the life of shadowing looked like, as well as some of the activities and girl's group I was able to experience. This internship left me with a wider and more fulfilled idea of what it looks like to be a school counselor, that will benefit me and my future career.
