Abstract

I started my internship at the State Training School in January 2020 with psychologist Sabrina Taylor. STS is a juvenile residential facility for boys aged 12-19 who have failed in other treatment facilities and continued to commit crimes or engage in substance abuse. While there I observed cognitive Behavior therapy (CBT) sessions with students with diagnosed mental illness. I also had the opportunity to help with their new dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) group sessions.
