Abstract
The current study assessed whether the characters in two popular children's cartoons, The Powerpuff Girls and Pokemon, were portrayed in gender stereotypical, neutral or counter-stereotypical manners. Whereas Pokemon was slightly more stereotypical in nature in comparison to The Powerpuff Girls, neither of them were gender stereotypical over all.
