Project Summary

The Service and Leadership Council has provided multiple opportunities to the campus community to be engaged in projects that benefit the Cedar Valley Community. We contact non-profit agencies of the Cedar Valley to find out what their needs are and what we can to assist with those needs. Once we figure out that information, we develop an event around it that includes a service project and a service-learning aspect. We invite the non-profit agency that we created an event for to our event, so they can communicate information about their cause to the campus community that they usually cannot reach. After the event, all of the projects created go to their cause. This year alone we have connected with ten non-profits and supplied them with nearly 15,000 items to help the Cedar Valley Community. We have also connected with the campus community by supplying them with numerous events that have led to over 1500 hours being volunteered. All of the aspects that our events bring allow for engagement in the campus and Cedar Valley Community.
