Project Summary
March is Women’s History Month. Throughout March, Northern Iowa Feminists holds the annual collection drive called the Red Basket Project. Many homeless shelters and food banks lack these important hygiene products for women and families. Our goal is to collect menstrual products for EMBARC and Friends of the Family. The Red Basket Project is our way of giving back to the community. In 2017, we donated over 60 boxes of menstrual products to Cedar Valley Friends of the Family. In 2018, we donated over 1,200 individual products and 54 boxes to EMBARC. We cannot wait to see what 2019 will bring!
