Project Summary

The Midwest Food Recovery Summit was hosted by the Iowa Waste Reduction Center in Des Moines in September of 2017. The innaugural event had over 130 attendees and featured new and innovative conference ideas including: A innovator pitch competition for companies with food waste innovations A cooking competition featuring high school culinary students competing against one another using nothing but food scraps as ingredients Seed paper name tags that attendees could plant to grow food when they got home Etc.
