Abstract

"What We Have In Common!" is the topic of a professional panel of a diverse group of leaden from very different youth service organizations and academic institutions. They addressed specific points of commonality in the profession, such as leadership, management, volunteerism, and the relationships to the competencies needed. The panel set the stage for the Symposium by providing focus on the key issues and questions to be addressed by the working ~ions. The identification and selection of presenters was facilitated by a formal call for papers addressing a professional competency list. The call was targeted with a set of focus questions and stratified by the lists of American Humanics affiliated organizations and academic institutions.
