Issue Area Three
Abstract
Our initial discussion focused on developing a clear understanding of key words included in this broad issue. This two-fold question was interpreted by our group in the following manner:
How can we (each one of us as individuals and groups of individuals) provide opportunities for people of diversity (all people, but specifically ethnic/racial groups)?
How can we (each one of us as individuals and groups of individuals) design support systems for people of diversity (all people, but specifically ethnic/racial groups) without creating a constant state of dependency?
With this clarification of terms, our group proceeded to identify five critical issues we felt would impact the effectiveness of any actions initiated to provide opportunities and design support systems.
