Abstract
Given the modern status quo, school choice is both a possibility and a problem. School choice is a possibility because it is a fundamental constitutional liberty. School choice is a problem because standardized state schools funded and regulated by state and federal governments do not easily mesh with families who choose educational alternatives to the public school. The purpose of this paper will be to establish school choice not only as a possibility, but as a necessity and even a benefit in a constitutional republic such as the United States. Considerations for implementing a position favoring school choice will be offered at the conclusion of this discussion.
