Abstract
Position: To uphold the parent's ultimate responsibility and liberty for the nurturing, education, and moral guidance for their children, without government control. Humboldt School District, Humboldt, Iowa.
In the last few years it has become evident to many in this nation that we are in a war for the very hearts and minds of the next generation, our children!
As parents of five sons, now all school age, my husband and I have tried, to the best of our ability, to stay in touch with the education they receive. I was very active in the public schools my sons attended. The beginning of our sons' education was in the Waterloo School District. We found it increasingly difficult to keep abreast of the curriculum being used, and became alarmed by the hostile atmosphere in the buildings of the upper grades. In an effort to find a school district that offered strong academics and a more congenial school atmosphere, my husband took a job transfer to Humboldt.
