Issue Area Three
Abstract
The purpose in this portion of the monograph is to share some of the issues considered when training stakeholders to participate in shared decision-making. Also presented are observations and recommendations regarding what training is needed, and how that training should be implemented.
The heart of shared decision-making rests in the beliefs and values that underlie the roles, responsibilities, and skills needed for shared decision-making. The participants of this focus group identified three significant areas they felt were critical concerns related to the shared decision-making process.
