Abstract
Our nation is facing a crucial educational problem. Significant numbers of citizens are not reaching their educational potential. Look around you. How many people of color are walking beside you in the mall? pushing a cart in the grocery store? participating in a discussion in a university class? teaching a graduate course at the university? Did your numbers diminish greatly? What happens to members of under-represented groups?
