Abstract
Many issues face the philosophers, practitioners, and policymakers regarding the educational attainment of all students and particularly, that of minorities or students of color. Much debate is brewing around one of these issues and the role he/she can play in a student's development and achievement. It has long been recognized that the relationship, between the wiser, more experienced and skilled older person and the enthusiastic, curious younger individual, in which each values certain characteristics in the other has led to an extraordinary level of accomplishment.
