Focus Area Five
Abstract
Improving the performance of all students should be the continual focus for all districts and all buildings. This focus demands the belief that all students indeed can learn and want to learn given appropriate circumstances, motivation, and opportunity. The task group assigned to this issue drew four conclusions regarding what schools must do to meet this objective.
- The System Must Plan for the Success of All Students
- All the Stakeholders Must Realize the School Cannot Do It Alone
- Schools Must Have a Proactive Focus from the Point of the Child's School Entry
- Schools Must Have a Commitment to Ongoing Staff Development
