Positive and Negative Affects Mediates the Links between Frequency of Engagement in Different Types of Positive Events and Life Satisfaction
Abstract
The goal of the current study was to examine whether positive or negative affect mediated the links between frequency of engagement in positive events and life satisfaction. The sample included 1255 participants from the MIDUS II (Midlife in the United States) biomarker study. Results showed that positive and negative affect mediated the relationships. Findings have implications of the importance of engaging in positive events and life satisfaction.
