Off-shell effects, Photodisintegration, Deuteron
The off-shell effects on the photodisintegration cross section of the deuteron are studied by means of a set of interactions which have identical on-shell, but different off-shell behavior. All members of this set yield the same two-nucleon scattering phase shifts and deuteron binding energy, but wave functions which differ at short distances. The experimental photodisintegration results could therefore be used as a further check on the off-shell properties of phenomenologically determined interactions.
