Abstract

Bird flocks were observed at Barba, Costa Rica, from November, 1967, until June, 1968. A total of 364 flocks was analyzed as to: whether they were single or mixed species flocks, species composition, habitat preference, vertical stratum preference, seasonal occurrence, and disassociation. Possible factors involved are discussed.
