Effects of the Antithyroid Drug, Propylthiouracil, on Organ Weights, NaCl Intake, and Blood Glucose Levels of Adrenolectomized White Rats

Abstract

The antithyroid drug, propylthiouracil, results in anatomical changes and increase in NaCl solution intake within one week of treatment. These changes are independent of the adrenal gland. The blood glucose levels are not changed greatly with propylthiouracil treatment.
