Abstract
This morning as we think of ourselves as professionals, we need to reflect on our training. Our training today, unfortunately, looks very much like the training most of us went through years ago. Yet we are living in a changing world. We are training students to be professionals in a world that you and I have never seen. We have absolutely no idea at this point what the year 2090 is going to look like because we are changing the face of all of our professions, even though we are all under this "youth leadership/ early childhood/human services" profession. In academic and training institutions we are beginning to change the way we turn people out for the next century and beyond, because the next century is less than 7 years away. We do not address it ... especially in academic institutions.
