Abstract
"What are the major problems facing youth and what can be done to better prepare youth organizations to address these challenges?" are the topics of a discussion roundtable of a diverse group of community leaders. They addressed specific points of concern to the youth development professionals, including the major problems facing youth, the professional development training needs, and the training needs that might be addressed because of limited financial resources. The roundtable group set the stage for the Symposium discussions that took place the following day. The many and variety perspectives the group brought to the issues in question provided useful insights into the problems and challenges facing youth development organizations.
