The Cover: A Copepod, micro-crustacean commonly found in the plankton of Iowa lakes, ponds, and reservoirs. This specimen was collected December 26th from under an ice cover in water 0 degrees C. The Photograph was made by direct projection from a projecting microscope to photographic printing pacer; exposure time, 1 second.
