Abstract
The current study explores the impact of support giving as a moderator between receiving support and older adults' psychological health. The study analyzed the data from the project Changing Lives of Older Couples, including a sample of 1,532 married individuals from Detroit Cosmopolitan areas. The findings suggest that receiving-support have differentiated effects depending on relational types. While giving-support does not show the conditional effect, it plays a moderator in reducing depression and anxiety especially at the low level of received support, suggesting the importance of social integration on older adults' psychological health.
