Abstract
Goal: To foster pragmatic understanding of communication ethics and to help students consider responsible communication choices that they face in their everyday public and private lives.
"Communication Ethics" is not oxymoronic. Although public figures, politicians, the media, corporations, and daily acquaintances may challenge this notion, communication scholars need to remind ourselves and our students of the essentialness of responsible speech. Therefore, all communication courses should involve some consideration of speech ethics, rights, and responsibilities.
