Abstract
Will Rogers said: "I never met a man I didn't like." If this statement is true, one possible explanation is that his friends did not introduce him to anyone they did not like. Since Will liked his friends and his friends liked the people they introduced to him, Will liked the person to whom he had just been introduced. The manner in which people are introduced, and who does the introducing, have wide-ranging effects on how the two newly introduced people view each other. If, for example, your best friend introduces you to someone in a manner that shows respect and admiration, you will have a positive feeling about that other person. If, on the other hand, someone you dislike intensely, but are forced to tolerate, introduces you to someone he/she likes, some of the feelings associated with the person who is barely tolerated are transferred to the new arrival.
