Abstract
The recent emphasis on the teaching of higher level thinking skills has resulted in the development of numerous curricular models which address strategies to teach for thinking, of thinking, and about thinking. Lipman, deBono, Costa, Perkins, and others have designed curricula which use philosophy, lateral thinking skills, and creative problem solving skills as bases for teaching critical and productive thinking.
