Abstract

My acts of civil disobedience between the years 1977 and 1982 were rooted in a living tradition of love based/faith centered non-violent direct action. I see myself as part of a growing Resistance Church in this country. Non-violent direct action is the use of power to change a given situation without the use of violence. History is filled with examples of people using non-violent tactics to force social change. Strikes, boycotts and different forms of non-cooperation are examples of nonviolent tactics used to bring about change.
