Abstract
Several years ago I served as the chairperson for a mime panel at the annual Iowa High School Speech Association Coaches' Convention. Many components of mime were discussed during a two-hour period--movement, selectivity, clarity, concentration, relaxation, imagination, characterization, reaction, and stylization. We all agreed mime could be used to train performers in many ways and that it was an applicable and viable method of strengthening a student's sense of communication.
