Abstract

The ground-state β branchings for several mass-separated Kr fission products and their daughters have been measured at the TRISTAN on-line separator facility at the Ames Laboratory Research Reactor. Absolute β counting was done with a 4π-geometry plastic scintillation detector and γ spectra were taken simultaneously with a Ge(Li) detector. The deduced values of the ground-state β branching βgs, expressed as a percentage of decays, are: Kr88, 14±4; Rb,88 78.0±1.2; Kr,89 23±4; Rb,89 25±5; Kr,90 29±4; Rbg90, 37±5; Kr,91 10±4; Rb,91 5±5. RADIOACTIVITY Kr88,89,90,91, Rb88,89,90,91 [from U235(n,f)]; measured IB, Iγ; Ge(Li) and 4π plastic scintillation detectors; deduced βg.s.; mass-separated parent Kr activities. © 1976 The American Physical Society.
