Production guidelines for community atlases
Technical papers ACSM-ASPRS annual convention, St. Louis, 1988. Vol. 5: GIS
Over the past three years an advanced cartography class at the University of Northern Iowa has designed, produced, and marketed a community atlas of urban areas for the following states: Iowa, North Carolina, and Florida. The idea behind the atlases was to have a team project that would expose students to all facets of a project and in addition result in a product that would have value to governmental and business concerns as well as the general public. Graphic examples are presented of each production step and suggested topics for mapping and problem areas will be highlighted. -from Author
