Abstract

In the United States, biobased products are a part of the country’s national policy to help preserve petroleum resources. The term biobased refers to products that are made of a portion that is renewable. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has a labeling process for biobased products; biobasedlabeled products receive purchase preference from the U.S. federal purchasers.
