Abstract

The ultimate goal of any shorthand course is to have the students produce mailable copy from their shorthand notes at reasonable rates of speed. This fact has been recognized by leading authorities in the field of-shorthand and transcription. With acceptance of this goal as the objective of shorthand and transcription teaching, some valid means of measuring student progress toward that goal is essential.
