Abstract

The Beatbox Partita a la Carté contains four movements that feature a multitude of sounds from today's society and centuries ago. The first movement, Parmesan begins with a mellow mood and contains a A B A form. The second movement, Cheddar, is lively and quick. It features a A B A B form, similar to a rondeau. The third movement, Romano, contains no beatbox effects and features a melancholy love theme. The last movement, Gouda, contains the qualities of mellow and intense characters, ending with inspirations from physical stomp dancing. The movements are based upon different cheeses because the composer simply thought it was a cheesy piece.
